Why Alexis Sanchez Should Join Bayern Munich

Alexis Sanchez is leaving Arsenal.

I don't think that is up for debate now. With Arsenal deciding they wouldn't want to be part of the Champions League next season and only having an FA Cup to show for their efforts, both parties know it's time to part ways.

Although Man City may seem like the most attractive option, I do believe the smarter play is for Sanchez to head to Bayern Munich.

Let's be real here; Sanchez is moving because he wants titles. He's approaching 30, and can't keep being patted on his back for his efforts without any hardware to show for it. He wants some medals to take back home, so he can look back on his career without any regrets.

Can he guarantee getting trophies at Man City? With how competitive the Premier League will be next season?

And City still being a level below Real Madrid, and a revitalised Barcelona as they chase European glory.

At Bayern Munich, he is guaranteed at least one trophy a season. So he can already tick the league title box before a ball is kicked. And Bayern are always very strong favorites to win the German Cup. Especially next season where Dortmund have sacked their coach and could lose their star striker.

And if it's between playing under Ancelotti and Guardiola; surely Sanchez would be far happier and have more freedom to express himself with the Italian.

Guardiola was the same man who berated Sanchez because he couldn't carry on in a game because he was injured. It was uncomfortable watching it, because Guardiola's attitude towards Sanchez was uncalled for.

That's something Ancelotti would never do, because any player who has worked under him will tell you he is the nicest man in the game.

Ancelotti has this cool, serene, laid back approach that must be good because of all the success he's had. Sanchez comes across as a very approachable and friendly guy, and I am sure he would appreciate Ancelotti's manner and flourish under his tutelage.

You also have the fact that Bayern need Sanchez a lot more than City do. When you look at Robben and Ribery's age; how inconsistent Coman is and the out-of-favour Costa, it is tailor made for Sanchez to lock down a place.

Bayern are a team who have relied on having really good flank players. Their 2013 treble was mainly due to how effective Robben and Ribery were, as they played a critical part in achieving that historic feat.

Sanchez is one of the best attacking wingers in the game, and he will give Bayern that surge of excellence they were missing this season, especially in the Champions League.

There is the Vidal factor as well. The fact that Vidal can text Sanchez to try and force his hand shows the kind of relationship they have. So any question of feeling homesick would be alleviated by having your fellow countryman to show you around.

At City, Guardiola is already happy with Jesus, Sane and De Bruyne who work really well together, along with Sterling. Yes, Sanchez will get in the team but he is not as essential a piece as he would be at Bayern.

And it's great to feel wanted.

So Alexis, take the pay-cut, stack up on those titles; maybe even a Champions League and be justly rewarded for the explosive footballing talent that you are.
