PULISIC MUST FILL THE DEMBELE VOID

He's the new American golden boy and is now the man that must fill the void left my Ousmane Dembele.

He is of course Christian Pulisic, who should go on to be the most talented footballer to play for America.

Don't you dare mention Landon Donovan.

Things have changed since last season at Dortmund. Thomas Tuchel parted ways with the club, the man who was such a seamless transition from Jurgen Klopp.

It's a decision that pissed me off and one the Dortmund board will regret.

And last season also saw Dortmund play a part in creating the second most expensive transfer in the world as Dembele joined the ranks of Barcelona.

Pulisic has to now step up. He is no longer the really talented young player who may start some games, and come off the bench for others. Bosz must look for him to be in the starting lineup and play like the finished article.

Pulisic is no Dembele, and won't be as good as the very talented Frenchman can be. But that doesn't mean Pulisic is a nothing player. He is really good, with a few skills of his own, and is a perfect fit for the Dortmund way of playing.

His a boy who will listen to instructions and do what he's supposed to do. A trait not all young players share, and is one that is very useful for a manager when you have a talented youngster.

Pulisic simply has to evolve his game. The schoolboy errors he makes of having ineffective parts during a game, and sometimes being lost must be ironed out. There has to now be an element of consistency.

The goals and assists that Dembele produced for the team last year, has to be replicated by Pulisic or at least he's go to come near those numbers. He's going to have to do that if Dortmund are going to try and wrestle that Bundesliga off of their sworn rivals.

Let's be real though. We simply can't be too harsh on Pulisic if he has a run of bad games. He's a young player that has some developing to do. Which is why him being thrust into the limelight in the American national team may not be the wisest decision.

He's easily their best player, but how you handle a young player will determine whether or not they will grow to fulfill their potential.

For someone has vastly experienced as Bruce Arena, he's got to be careful in how he handles Pulisic. Putting too much weight on his shoulder, may see him try too hard, which can lead to bad performances and thus affect his form for Dortmund.

Ease him into the limelight and let his other American teammates raise their game.

It's going to be a big season for him and Dortmund. Bayern may have some issues, but Bayern are Bayern and they won't let go off their crown so easily. So it's up to Dortmund and Pulisic to step up to the plate and play like they really want this Bundesliga crown. HH
